This is the final trail report for the winter of 2012-2013 in Michigan's beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula. Although there is still a lot of snow, snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are officially closed and grooming has ended for the season.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, please, drive safely. The signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the riders’ safety. Please, DO NOT remove or destroy these signs.

Remember to watch out for the groomers and deer when you’re out on the trails…..they have the right of way!!

Please be aware that if you snowmobile on U.S. Coast Guard property you could face federal trespass charges.

Chalet closed, trails open with good conditions.

Maasto Hiihto & Churning Rapids

Dragged, leveled, and set tracks on 3-28-13. Conditions are very good.

McLain State Park

Done grooming for the season. Trails are very icy and in poor condition.

Copper Harbor

Trails are groomed with excellent conditions

Chassell

Trail closed due to icy conditions. Will groom again if new snow arrives and temps permit.

Michigan Tech

Main trails tilled and tracked, no grooming at Tolkien Trails.

Porcupine Mountain

Closed April 1st

Eagle Harbor

Groomed and tracked on 3-27-13. Conditions are very good.

Fort Wilkins

Groomed on 3-23-13. Trails are in very good condition.

Downhill Skiing

Closed but may open this weekend for the last weekend of season.

Mt. Bohemia

Closed due to high winds and will re-open Tuesday.
